At last, here is our first blog of the year.
We have been so impressed with how your children have coped with their adjustment to school. Taking into account how little some of your children have interacted with others over the last 5 or 6 months.
I thought it would be fun to create a video showing the children exploring the classroom on the first day. As you will see some friends explored lots of materials while others were comfortable focusing on one or two for the whole morning.
At the end of the morning we read, The Pigeon HAS to go to school by Mo Willems.
The second video is our hike to Lundholm woods. We discussed using our senses to look, listen, touch and smell items in nature, as well as mentioning why it is not a good idea to taste things we find outside.
QUESTIONS
Can you remember any of your friends names?
What is the best part of being at school?
What guessing game did you play at group time with Ms. Small? (clue: there was a blanket to cover the items)
Enjoy your long weekend
REMINDER: If you haven't emailed me two photos of your child please send them by next week. Our initial self identity conversations start with looking at the photos and sharing what we like to do and who is in our family.
