Creating our skin color with paints
As you probably will have heard I was out yesterday as my husband was not well. Rest assured it was nothing to do with Covid. Ms Lawrence worked with students to help them find a paint swatch that they felt matched closely to their skin color. The paint swatches had interesting names like, crazy for you, honey comb, maple syrup, and pink powderpuff.
Today a few friends got the opportunity to create a color that they felt was close to their skin type. We will continue with this project over the next couple of weeks as it can be a slow process mixing just the right amount of each color to find the color they are happy with. |
Lucy's paint swatch described it as 'Milkshake'. I wonder what flavor? |
After work choices we read The colors of us by Karen Katz
This book really helps the class think about the different colors of skin. Giving us names to help describe our skin color, like cinnamon, chocolate, peach, ginger or french toast.
