Charlotte came up with the idea for our question of the day, What is you favorite Star Wars character? Perfect for May 4th. We realized it can be tricky to decide which characters to choose to list when there are so many to choose from. The students made the final decision.
There was a lot of activity in dress up today. Puppies being taken care of by owners. This is a theme that our students love to return to. Certain friends always wanting to play the puppies while others want to play the owners.
Jenna decided the house needed painting. "Rainbow color."
Jenna asked for help and Mila joined in.
The owners took good care of their animals. Lucy decided to take her dog out for a walk. They stopped so that Livio could read a book before going home.
Another animal expert shared their knowledge today, Ren told us all he knows about gorillas.
The class listened and asked lots of questions. Ren still has questions he wants to answer such as,
"Why do gorillas weigh 500 lbs ?"
I realized that I didn't share which book we read yesterday. Anne shared with the class that she is moving to Connecticut with her family during the Summer. We read a book called Half a world away. Talking about two friends that did everything together and how they dealt with moving away from each other.
We are also realizing how tricky it is to find Q words. Noticing how it sounds similar to the letters K and C. We found all of the alphabet books out and friends looked through to find the letter Q. We learned the names of animals we hadn't heard of before and learned sign language for the letter Q.
During story time we read
QUESTIONS
