COUNTING IN SPANISH

 Happy Thursday!

Each morning we count how many students are present.  This week we started counting in Spanish as well as English.  Some of the students paid particular notice to what their number was in Spanish.

The music area has become one of our favorite work choices.   Learning to listen to others, choosing to play fast or slow.  What happens when you hold the triangle with your hand instead of using the string?

I had a great video that Ms. Castillo took of this group of friends playing together but for some reason  after a couple of seconds something went wrong with the film speed.  If I sort out the problem I will add it to tomorrow's blog.

Before reading our story we calmed our bodies with a few relaxation poses.  The seed pose (A.K.A child's post), Tree pose,  and Butterfly pose.  Then the children shared a few poses they enjoy doing.

After all that relaxing we were ready to listen to The skin we live in by Michael Tyler.  We continued our discussion about our skin.  Why do we have skin?  How does it help us?  Where is our skin? What would happen if we didn't have skin? Why is our skin different colors ?   When discussing this with your child  please do not be concerned if their answers to these questions do not meet your expectations. We are planting seeds of thought.  Giving them time to think and formulate questions.  Later in the year when we begin our self portrait work we will revisit some of these books and conversations.

After P.E. we headed outside to the playground.

QUESTIONS

What did you put in your morning song instead of Cuckoo?
