PIPES AND PLAY-DOH

We ordered play-doh before the children returned to school in August and eventually our Play-doh arrived.  Normally we make our own play-doh but due to the Virus we ordered individual tubs.  Everyone was excited to pick a color and play with it.  

The children quickly realized they could use the tub as a tool to roll out the dough, and the lid is very good for making cookies.  

                  

             We also added  construction toys to our work choices.  It proved to be very popular.

Kaia and Ren discovered a tape measure in the box and tested how far they could make it go.

Due to the interest in marble runs and ramps I decided to introduce the water pipes to the sensory table.  The children spent a long time figuring out how to put the pipes together so that the  water  traveled all the way along the pipe.  Working together they took turns filling the water bottles, and standing on the step ladder. Teamwork!

Max and Henry played the drum for us.  We listened to the metronome moving slowly and fast.  They explored playing fast, and slow, as well as softly using two fingers, and loudly using both hands.   The boys both agreed they liked playing the drum fast and loud.

This helps us continue our conversation about the Welcome rule and later in the week we will create our own list of rules for our classroom.
