Pancake Day

We had another fun filled day.  We started our morning discussing Pancake Day.  A British celebration that took place on February 16th but conflicted with our school schedule so we pushed it back to today.  I  made English pancakes at home and brought them in to share. We made American style pancakes in the class.    Friends got the opportunity to pour batter onto the hot plate, and the all important part taste them.

We changed the doctor's office into a Veterinary clinic complete with animal costumes.

Which inspired students to make their own costumes.

Our guest visitor today was PierCarlo, Livio's dad.  He shared his love of the game Squash.  We learned so many interesting facts.  Do you know how flexible and strong  you need to be to become a world champion Squash player.? We saw pictures of athletes flying in the air and managing to do the splits in order to hit the ball.

We practiced some of the moves that the Squash players did, with some degree of success.

QUESTIONS

Which country in Africa do the world champion Squash players live? (clue: They have the pyramids)

How are English pancakes different to American pancakes?
