Brain testing

Our question of the day was, which of the Continents does your animal live on?  A couple of our friends animals can only be found on one continent.  While a few members of the class had to make a mark above almost every continent.

This week we started 'Brain testing'.  This is when the teachers  sit down with a student and ask them questions.  Ren and Henry wore their teachers badges again today.  Inspiring a group of students to become teachers.  First thing you have to do is create your own  identity badge and hang it around your neck.  Using card, scissors, glue, a picture of yourself, hole punch and  string.  The children were able to create one with very little support from teachers.

Then our new teachers walked around with a clipboard asking questions.

Clipboards and copies of our brain testing sheets were handed out.  It looks like Eli is worn out by all the questions Henry had for him.

The children asked questions, such as, How do you feel about work choices?  Have you got your coat?  What is your favorite snack?  Very similar to some of the questions we ask.

The interest in painting animals and friends has increased this week.  Some of the animal paintings made me think about Bria Neff the girl we read about before Spring break who painted pictures of endangered animals.

Brooklyn created just the right shade of grey for her Koala painting.

Lucy:"Hmm, I'm not sure what it is, yet."

Mila:"It's Maddie."

Kaia:"It's a rainbow."

Ren wanted to look at Bria Neff's version of a gorilla before painting his own version.

At the end of the morning we read

QUESTIONS
What happened to the shark at the end of the story?
Which continent does your animal live on?
